GoogleBase file not loading due to incorrect format
CommerceXchange provide the GoogleBase file in a format that should be compatible with GoogleBase's upload requirements.

Should you edit this file in any way, CommerceXchange will be unable to support this file, and we recommend you liaise with Google directly to resolve the issue.


From time-to-time, Google will make changes to their GoogleBase requirements, and do not advise any third parties, such as ourselves.

In June 2011 Google made such a change, and CommerceXchange was required to make a unexpected modification to the export file to make use of the 'Quoted Fields' facility. This may result in upload failure for some dealers, however, it is also simple to resolve:
  1. Access your GoogleBase account
  2. Select the 'Edit' option next to the file name:



  3. Now select the below settings:



  4. So,
    • Under FILE FORMAT select 'TEXT'
    • Under DELIMITER select 'TAB'
    • Under USE QUOTED FIELDS select 'YES'
  5. Save your new settings by clicking on the SAVE CHANGES button
  6. Retry your upload
